History of Air Turbine Propeller

Bill Feazell

In 1950, William F. Feazell founded Alloy Propeller in Baltimore, Maryland. Bill developed a technique for fabricating large steel axial fan propellers for industrial use. Most of the heavy industrial propellers at that time were cast aluminum. Bill’s fan blades were soon incorporated by:

  • Roof ventilators
  • Man cooling fans
  • Evaporative condensers
  • Cooling towers
  • Etc.

In 1952, he moved his operation to Zelienople, Pennsylvania, where he improved and expanded his product lines. In 1965, he sold Alloy Propeller and founded Air Turbine Propeller Company.  Air Turbine Propeller incorporated in 1970 as an ESOP, allowing employees to become owners of the company. For nearly 50 years, Air Turbine Propeller has been recognized as a leader in the industrial and commercial axial fan/propeller industry.
